A Year of Unlimited Energy and Potentials

I always learn from my patients. I feel that Physical Therapy can be a win-win situation for both the therapist and the patient. A few years back, I knew I needed something in my life so I looked inward towards how I feel and how I interacted with people. One of my patients suggested this book to me and it totally CHANGED MY LIFE. Believe it or not, I saw one of my personal trainer friends Bret Contreras post this one on his Facebook page a few months ago, so it stuck with me.

Life is a roller coaster and my friend, Lynn Hagedorn told me that you can get stuck in the vortex of life that you eventually forget to dream again or simply forget where you are headed in life. I love starting the year out with a few great excerpts from one of my favorite books authored by Don Miguel Ruiz titled: The Four Agreements. Here's to a wonderful 2013.

The Four Agreements
Don Miguel Ruiz

1.     Be Impeccable with your Word

Speak with integrity. Say only what you mean. Avoid using words to speak against yourself or to gossip about others. Use the power of your word in the direction of truth and love.

2.     Don’t Take Anything Personally

Nothing others do is because of you. What others say and do is a projection of their own reality, their own dream. When you are immune to the opinions and actions of others, you won’t be the victim of needless suffering.

3.     Don’t Make Assumptions

Find the courage to ask questions and to express what you really want. Communicate with others as clearly as you can to avoid misunderstandings, sadness and drama. With just this one agreement, you can completely transform your life.

4.     Always Do Your Best

Your best is going to change from moment to moment; it will be different when you are healthy as opposed to sick. Under any circumstance, simply do your best, and you will avoid self-judgment, self-abuse, and regret.
