Teaching a Self-MWM for Shoulder
Three possible ways of doing this:
1. Patient can use the heel of her hand to push the affected shoulder posteriorly.
2. Patient can use a sponge or any soft cloth or towel and push the shoulder posteriorly with the tips of the fingers.
3. Using a belt, the patient holds the belt (from the back) so that the normal UE stabilizes a "pull" from behind the patient, therefore giving a downward force on the belt on the affected shoulder.
--- If it is pain-free, the patient raises the shoulder 10 x flexion or abduction whichever is limited.
